SCOTLAND'S top business gurus are already getting a kick out of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games - vowing to wear trainers to work on Monday.

Top tycoons, including Stagecoach bus boss Brian Souter and Irn-Bru chief Robin Barr, will join around 750,000 Scots for Sport Your Trainers to work day.

The initiative will see workers in offices and businesses across the country turn up wearing sporty footwear with their usual work clothes.

And our game-for-a laugh tycoons are ahead of the pack - by customising their trainers!

Glasgow 2014's Sport Your Trainers day aims to get Scotland geared up for the coming Games.

The campaign will run every March 14 until the sporting extravaganza is held in Glasgow.

Stagecoach supremo Brian Souter has a wacky pair of shoes that look like his famous buses.

And he grinned: "Sport Your Trainers day is a great way to show our support for the Games.

"I'll swap my favourite Kickers for a pair of trainers."

Soft-drink gaffer Robin Barr decorated his trainers in Irn-Bru's trademark colours with added ring-pulls. He reckons Glasgow's Games will be the best Barr none.

He beamed: "Sport Your Trainers day is a phenomenal initiative in support of an event that will have a fantastic impact on Glasgow and Scotland."

That view is backed by Secret Millionaire TV star Tony Banks.

The Balhousie Care Group boss has been in training for a trip to the North Pole to raise dosh for military charity Combat Stress.

He said: "Training for the Arctic expedition has given me an idea of the dedication the athletes will need."

Fake Bake businesswoman Sandra McClumpha added: "The whole world will be watching Glasgow and will see what an amazing city we live in."

Dragons' Den guru and Scottish Sun business columnist Shaf Rasul will wear his trainers with pride on Monday. He said: "It's time we picked up the baton and got right behind our top athletes."

While Barrhead Travel founder Bill Munro hopes it will all take off with his aeroplance shoes.

He said: "An event like the Commonwealth Games is so important for attracting tourists."
